The building is at the corner of Washbrook Road with Spencer Road, looking towards Higham Road junction.

William Percy Tomkins appears in Kelly's directory in 1906 at 24 Higham Road, and he left that in 1909 [see below] and in 1910 moved to this shop, 24 Washbrook Road.

In 1911 he was living at Woodford Halse as a boarder, aged 28, and had been born at Wellingborough. So, having had his name etched into the door of the shop, William Percy didn't stay here for long!

At the corner with Higham Road a garage was built, and later this shop was taken into the premises of the garage.
