Founded in 1891 by Mr. Aaron Phillips, who also founded the Kettering firm bearing the same name, the Rushden business is now in the hands of Mr. L. Phillips and his son, Richard.

Since it was first opened the firm has maintained a steady growth and the new furniture showroom, an extension on the Rushden High Street premises built by Potters, Wellingborough Ltd. gives a total area of 5,000 square feet, all used to make sure that the customer is satisfied and feels at ease.

The latest trend in shop lighting is used to show on the latest and best stock in the five departments — household linens, furnishing fabrics, dress fabrics, furniture and carpets. A tour through the shop will show that anything you need for your home is available.

Pride of place in the shop goes to the furniture department now housed in the new extension. The extension has provided a spacious and attractive showroom with a comprehensive range of dining and bedroom suites to suit every need. There is a large range of lounge suites, occasional chairs and convertible couches by famous manufacturers, all keenly priced.

And if you want those few "extras" to make your well-furnished room into "home" then the department offers a selection of occasional furniture, including bureau, coffee tables, needlework cabinets, magazine racks, companion sets and a fine display "Peerage" brassware.
