The cycle is thought to be from around 1935-40...... and was painted red.
It still has the original label.

Supplied new in 1939 by the Lightstrung Motor Company, Church Street, Rushden.
It is believed this vehicle found use during the war as an Official Taxi ferrying U.S. servicemen between local air force bases and the town. [at Podington & Chelveston]
Sometime after the war it was sold on to Wellingborough, where it was run into the ground until garaged in 1956 when the Suez fuel crisis hit.
Rediscovered in 1989 and subsequently restored, and was finally back on the road again in 1997.
