George Knowlton
Timber Merchant
George Knowlton (son of Wm & Elizabeth) came to Rushden in the 1890s, from Podington, with his wife Louisa (nee Chapman, born at Hinwick).

In 1896 George and Louisa had married and in 1899 a son, Reginald George C Knowlton was born at Rushden. They lived at 92 Moor Road.

By 1911 the family had grown to 6 children; Reginald now 11, Kenny 9, Harry 8, Stanley 6, Sadie 4, Dorothy 1.

The last advertisement for George was in 1914 in Kelly's Directory.
