Albert Edward Hill's shop at 13/15 High Street was a fruiterer's and greengrocery, from the early 1930s. His son, Michael, joined him in the business. One of their specialities was freshly cooked and peeled beetroot. About 1950 Mr Hill lived at Hillcroft, Irchester Road.
Later Mr Hill's daughter Joyce took over Gardener's confectioner's shop adjoining, trading as 'Candy Corner'.
