| Thomas W Gates was living in Armley, Yorkshire, with his parents and sister in 1901. He was aged 25, and had been born in Leeds.
In 1905 he married Charlotte Annie Cowley, who was living in Rushden with her uncle, aunt, and sister. Two years older than Tom, she was born at Far Cotton, Northampton.
Tom and Charlotte were trading from 16 Winchester Road.
The sign around the cart tells us he was supplying milk, eggs and butter.
