George Edward Victor Fleeman, always known as Vic, was born in West Bridgeford, Nottingham in July 1895, where his father George owned a hardware shop (he came from Rickinghall in Suffolk).
In the 1911 census his occupation is shown as a Chemist’s apprentice so presumably he worked in a shop in Nottingham.
He must have subsequently qualified as a member of the Pharmaceutical Society but I can find no trace of him between 1911 and when he took over the pharmacy at 9 & 11 High Street in Rushden from William Orrell in 1928. He remained in business there until he retired in 1964.
