Rushden's chance to 'eat Chinese'
Crystal Dragon

A CHINESE restaurant, the Crystal Dragon, will be opened at Rushden at the beginning of September. It will have seating for 120 people and will stay open to 11.30 each night.

The manager, Mr. Lee Ping Wah, has been negotiating for the premises, formerly the Opal Cafe, High Street, since Christmas.

Aim is Good Service

A staff of six, including three waiters, with the addition of another for coffee making, will run the restaurant under Mr. Lee.

He told the "Echo":  "We aim to give good service, with a large selection of English and Chinese food."

Set lunches at four shillings each with three courses, and dinners at eight shillings with four courses, all with a choice, will be provided, in addition to over a hundred dishes listed on the menu.

In partnership with Mr. K. Pleszko, Mr. Lee runs two other Chinese restaurants.

The restaurant at Rushden will stay open to 11.30 pm and an application for a licence will eventually be made.
