Henry Chettle

Henry Chettle in Church Street

In 1891 Henry Chettle was living in Co-op Row and working as a shoemaker.

With a growing family he moved in about 1895 to 13 Church Street where he ran a greengrocery business.

In 1901 he was aged 44, with his wife Eliza, and sons Harry, Herbert, Bob, and Frank, and daughters Nellie, Lily, Hilda and Winifred. In 1910 they moved to 29 Church Street, and traded there until 1929.

Eliza died aged 66 and was buried on 15th April 1927 and Henry died aged 72, and was buried on 1st May 1929 in Rushden Cemetery in the same plot.
