Adverts 1937

A Grand Concert souvenir programme cost 3d.
The concert was on 26th September 1937, in aid of Rushden Temperance Band building fund, and was at the Ritz.

The programme included selections by
Mr Peter Dawson, The World-Renowned Baritone
and by the H.M. Grenadier Guards Band.

“Well worth keeping, this Unique Programme has been specially written and designed to make a really interesting Souvenir for You to take home and peruse at your leisure.

It has only been made possible by full-hearted co-operation of the progressive Advertisers whose goods and services
are described in these pages.”

A Great Writer has said of Flowers

“What a desolate place would be a World without a flower! It would be like a face without a smile, a feast without a welcome.” (Mrs Balfour)

It is an acknowledged fact that a woman’s hand is needed to arrange a gracious garnishment of flowers. But men as well appreciate the colourful result, the gay appearance of a well be-flowered home.

At the cost of some care and a few coppers, even the greyest day can be brightened by a brilliant mass of fresh-cut flowers, or budding blooms from well-selected bulbs.

And for the most important events in our lives – to which gay Bouquets are a tribute (or even sympathy to be expressed by a wreath) – Betts’ can weld fine flowers to your every need.

A wide choice is always at Betts’ – and the choicest are very reasonable in price.
