Queen Victoria - Old Stables

The old stables building behind the Queen Victoria Hotel, when it was no longer needed, became workshops at the ground floor and meeting rooms above in what would have been the grooms' living accommodation.

One of the workshops was used by Jack Smith and his brother Harry, where they made surgical boots.

Another workshop was where Cottingham & Reid made bicycles, in the 1960s.

Upstairs was a meeting room for the CYA Club in the 1950s through to 1989 and possibly later.
