The business was started in the 1950s by Bernard Palmer when he took over Robinson's Fruit Stores, at 21 High Street. He started to sell flowers and employed Jan as his assistant. Jan made beautiful floral arrangements and wreaths.
Bernard Palmer had taken over the business.
He continued to trade as Robinson's Fruit Stores.

When Bernard retired, Jan took over the business and now concentrated only on the floristry, and moved to number 27, in the 1960s.

Jan's daughter now runs the business, and still trades as 'Jan's Floral Boutique'.
