Iconic building of Airflo Cafe and Birch's Bus Garage
The Airflo Cafe was kept by Mr and Mrs Jack Rickard. The Airflo Cafe provided sustinance for passengers and drivers. During WWII it had also been used by American soldiers as a tyre repair depot.

They served lunches to lots of local workers, who appreciated a hot meal after a morning's work. From 12 noon to 1 pm was always known as 'dinner hour' in Rushden.

The cafe closed in 1968 when Jack Rickard retired, and the Birch's Bus service ended in 1971. Since then the cafe has been at sometime a Chinese take-away, and upstairs offices were used by Roberts Accountants. 'Home Suite Home' furnishings and carpets took over the rest of the ground floor.

In 2021 the building is used as a fish and chip take-away and the furniture shop. Plans have recently been passed for the building to be converted inside as luxury flats, and 'Home Suite Home' will close down.
