Whitefriars Church 2014

May 2014 — Whitefriars Church has been awarded a £32,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, to help youngsters learn about their town’s history. They will work for three years to research people who have been key figures in the history of the last 150 years. The Reverend Philip Evans said he was delighted that the young people can discover more about their heritage.

The grant will enable them to link with the Whitefriars’ community youth work, Access All Areas, which aims to give the youngsters more self-confidence and self-esteem, a project which has been running for the past ten years. For the last eight years they have been working with Rushden Community College.
