B.W.T.A.Mrs Mitchell presided last Sunday afternoon at the women’s service in which Mrs. Tailby and Miss E. H. Brown took part. Miss C. Button sand “His matchless love” and Miss Newell was pianist. The attendance was good.

GARDEN PARTY – In connection with the BWTA garden party last week, prizes were won by the following:- Flowers: 1 Miss Hilda Jaques, 2 Mrs J Jaques, special Mrs Wright. Wild flowers: 1 Mr Bettles, 2 Miss Marjory Ladds.

Rushden Notes
B.W.T.A. – “I ought, I can, I will” were the phrases forming the basis of an earnest address by Mrs. Carey Bonner of London, at the B.W.T.A. Hall at the women’s meeting on Sunday. Mrs. Parkin presided. Miss Frances Wrighton was the soloist and Miss Newell the pianist.

B.W.T.A.–At the Women’s Meeting on Saturday, held in the Congregational Church, Mrs. John Linnitt presided. The subject of the address by Mrs. Tailby was “Fragments”. The soloist was Miss Nellie Wilmer, and the accompanists Miss Rosie Peck and Master Cecil Sargent.

A Garden Meeting was held at “Elmside,” Rushden, on Tuesday, by the kind permission of Mr. and Mrs. I. Cunnington, arranged by the B.W.T.A., Rushden branch. Mrs. T. Smith presiding, an able address was given by Mrs. A. A. Stevens. Tea was afterwards served to the good company present. [Elmside – 23 Park Road]

By the Kindness of Mr and Mrs G Denton, the members of the Children’s Pleasant Hours (the children’s department of the B.W.T.A.) spent a very jolly evening in the grounds of Eastfields on Wednesday last. After a short programme of songs and recitations the children were free to play in the whole of the gardens. Three hearty cheers were given for Mr and Mrs Denton at the close. Mrs Edith Norman and the Misses Clipson superintended.

Outing—Children attending the B.W.T.A. Children’s Pleasant Hour had their annual outing to the Wicksteed Park on Saturday. They were accompanied by Miss N Clipson and Mrs E Linnett.

Miss Connie Hall during an Elocutionary Recital at the B.W.T.A. Hall.
