It is with great affection we both remember Rushden, together with the villages that were in our care. Our dear friend Gwen Watson has enabled us to keep in touch over the years by sending us the Newsletter continuously and keeping in touch. We are very grateful to her as this has enabled us to still hold you all in our thoughts and prayers and keep up to date with progress. On our several visits in the past to preach and speak we always enjoyed the lovely hospitality of Gwen and Tom (of blessèd memory).
It was in 1962 that we left and we doubt if there are many who remember us. However, we have many memories of wonderful people (too numerous to mention) who were so supportive in what proved to be a very full and happy ministry in a very strong and thriving church.
We congratulate you on reaching your Centenary, and are grateful for the invitation to attend during this special year. However, at the moment we had better not commit ourselves to any definite arrangement; it all depends on our state of health and ability to travel. Whether a visit becomes possible or not, we wish you well as you prepare for your celebrations.
May God continue to grant you many blessings, as you begin another century.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Joan and Denis Dobell
