Third Hunger Lunch in Church Hall
The third of six hunger lunches organised by the Rushden Council of Churches was held in the Independent Wesleyan Hall, Queen Street, Rushden on Wednesday.

It is hope to raise about £80 for Christian Aid from the six hunger lunches.

The lunches are being held at St. Mary’s Vestry Hall, the Independent Wesleyan Hall, and the St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church Hall.

This is about the fourth year that the hunger lunches have been held in Rushden, and the first two raised £30.

The lunch consists of soup, and bread and cheese and the recipient pays a minimum of three shillings for this meal.

Parishioners from all churches in Rushden attend these hunger lunches which are held at the three central churches.

Anniversary in 1899
