Rushden's New R.C. Church
A new Roman Catholic church at Rushden seating 350 was blessed and opened yesterday by the Roman Catholic Bishop of Northampton, the Rt. Rev. T. Leo Parker.
There was a procession outside the buildings which moved inside to the chanting of the Litanies by the choir for Mass which was celebrated by the parish priest, Father E. O'Gorman. The Bishop gave the address.
Father John Reffitt, the Bishop's secretary, also assisted.
Later at a confirmation service the Bishop confirmed 35 candidates. The old church is being converted into a sacristry.
