At the quarterly meeting of the Higham Ferrers Wesleyan Methodist circuit, held at Riseley on Thursday week, the Rev. G. C. Gould (superintendent minister) presided. Alderman C.W. Horrell reported that the site originally offered for a church at the Court Estate, Rushden, was too far out, but Mr. Norman had offered a site next to his house large enough for a church for all the residents of that estate. The committee had gladly accepted the offer. On the motion of Alderman T. Patenall, seconded by Mr. Horrell, heart thanks were accorded Mr. and Mrs. Norman for their offer and it was agreed that the Chairman form a legal trust on which the gift could be placed.

The centenary of Riseley Wesleyan church was celebrated on the same day, and a public meeting in the evening was attended by the Rev. A.S. Dodds (vicar of Riseley) who spoke of the spirit of Christians’ unity in the village.
