Important Sale of 636 sheep, 81 Beast, 4 Horses,
287 Acres of Excellent Grass Keeping,
128 Acres Straw Keeping and about 50 Tons of Hay
To be sold at auction by Samuel Deacon.
On Wednesday 3rd day of October 1860, on the farm in the occupation of the late Thomas Gell Esq., at Yelden.
The following very valuable Live Stock comprises –
Sheep; 220 Ewes, 98 Theaves, 92 Shearlings, 9 Fat sheep and 217 Lambs.
Fat Beast: 8 Welsh Runts, 3 Devon Beast, 16 Shropshire Beast and 4 short-horned Steers.
Store Beasts etc. 25 3 year old Steers, 10 North Wales Runts, 10 Welch Beasts, 1 Heifer in full profit, 2 yearling steers, 1 yearling Stirk very superior well bred, 2 year old bull.
Horses: Superior 3 year old cart filly, 2 year old ditto, 2 year old cart colt, 6 year old horse (Boxer)
Also the following valuable Grass Keeping to 1st March next.

and also about 128 acres of excellent Wheat, Bean and Oat Straw, with about 50 tons of superior Hay, to be apportioned and consumed in four well sheltered yards.
A shepherd will be provided and credit given for the Keeping to the 1st February next on payment of 10 per cent deposit and giving approval joint security for the remainder at the close of the Sale.
The Auctioneer begs most respectfully to invite attention to the above Sale as the whole of the stock will be found healthy and in excellent condition, the grass land sound, full of keep, plentiful supply of water, good fences and well sheltered.
Descriptive catalogues may be had ten days prior to the Sale, on application at the principal Inns in the neighbourhood; Printing Office, Oundle; at the Offices of the Auctioneer, Oundle and Benefield; and at the place of Sale.
Yelden is within five miles of the Higham Ferrers Station on the London and North-Western Railway and three of Sharnbrook Station on the Leicester and Hitchin Railway. Refreshment will be on the table at Ten o’clock and the Sale to commence at Eleven o’clock precisely.

35 Tons of Wheat, Oat, Barley, and Pea Straw
To be sold by Auction by
Messrs Pendered & Son Ltd.
On Monday 14th March 1921, by order of William Whitehead Esquire.
The straw is pressed and baled and ready for immediate removal and will be sold in lots of 10 cwt. and upwards to suit purchasers. The vendor will deliver to the purchaser’s premises within a radius of 8 miles, lots of 1 ton and upwards free of cost.
Company to meet at the Home Farm Premises at two o’clock prompt.
