In the Name of God Amen I Twyford WORTHINGTON of Higham Ferrers in the County of Northampton Gent being weake in body but of sound mynd and memory doe make constitute and ordeine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following First I commend my Soule into the hands of Almighty God trusting through the merits of my deare Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to inherit eternall life And my body to the Earth to be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named And as for my temporall Estate with which it hath pleased Almighty God to blesse mee I dispose of the same in manner and forme following

Imprimis I give and devise unto my eldest sonn Robert WORTHINGTON All that my Farme house in Newton Bromsold in the said County of Northampotn now in the tenure or occupacon of Nathaniell ALEXANDER Together with all the Barnes stables Outhouses arable Land ley and Meadow ground Closes of pasture Common and Common of Pasture profits Commodityes hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said Farme belonging To have and to hold to my said sonn Robert his heires and assignes forever

Item I further give and devises unto my said eldest sonn Robert WORTHINGTON All that my Close of Pasture in Newton Bromsold aforesaid and now or late in the tenure or occupacon of Edward TROTT Clerk with theire and every of their appurtenances To have and to hold unto my said sonn Robert his heires and assignes forever

Item I give and bequeath unto my said son Robert WORTHINGTON my silver Tankard after the decease of my wife Elizabeth WORTHINGTON

Item I give and devise unto my sonn John WORTHINGTON All that my Burrough hold Messuage or Tenement in Higham Ferrers aforesaid in the occupacon of Ann SMART and the said John WORTHINGTON with the Acre of Land and other appurtenances thereto belonging To have and to hold to my said sonn John his heires and assignes forever

Item I give and bequeath to my said sonn John WORTHINGTON my seale gold Ring Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Rebecca WILCOX during the life of her husband William WILCOX yearely and every yeare the full and cleere summe of Tenn pounds To be paid half yearely in equall porcions by my Executors hereafter named The first payment to begin and be made within Three monethes after my decease and so to continue from thence every half yeare during her naturall life But if it shall happen that my said saughter shall survive her husband aforesaid Then my will is that my Executors shall pay to her the further and additionall summe of Eight Pounds during her naturall Life yearely and every yeare upon the dayes and tymes aforesaid by equall porcions

Item I give and devise unto my sonn in Law Thomas RICHARDS of Keysoe and my daughter Elizabeth his wife All that my Lease together with all the Lands Tenements and hereditaments whatsoever therin expressed which I hold of and from Corpus Christi Colledg in Oxon until my grandchild Stephen RICHARDS shall atteine the age of Fower and Twenty yeares Then I give and bequeath the same unto my said grandchild Stephen he paying out of it these severall summes followinf That is to say To my grandchild Jonathan RICHARDS the summe of fowerscore Pownds (within three monethes after my said Grandchild Stephen shall attaine the age of foure and twenty yeares And to my Grandchild John RICHARDS the like Summe of fourscore pounds) when he shall atteine the age of Three and Tweny yeares And to my grandchild Rebecca RICHARDS the like summe of fowerscore Pownds when shee shall atteine the age ot Two and Twenty yeares And if it shall happen that my said grandchild Stephen shall depart this life before he shall atteine the age of Fower and Twenty yeares Then my Will is my said Three grandchildren Jonathan John and Rebecca RICHARDS or somany of them as shall be then living shall have and enjoy the said Lease with the profits of the same to be equally devided amongst them at such time as my said Grandchild Stephen RICHARDS ought to have had the same And if it shall happen that one of my said Three grandchildren Jonathan John and Rebecca shall depart this life before the said summe of Fowerscore Pownds respectively is due unto them my Will is that my grandchild Joseph RICHARDS shall have the said (summe of) Fowerscore Pownds at such time or times as the same ought to have been paid had such my grandchild lived

Item I give and bequeath unto my grandchild Thomas RICHARDS The summe of Two hundred Pownds To be paid by my Executors hereafter named when he shall atteine the age of Two and Twenty yeares if my wife Elizabeth WORTHINGTON shall then be dead And if it shall happen that my said wife shall be living when my said grandchild Thomas shall atteine the age of Two and Twenty yeares Then my Will is that the said Two hundred Pownds shall not be paid to him till within one moneth after my said wifes decease

Item I give and devise unto my loving wife Elizabeth WORTHINGTON All my Burrough hold messuage or Tenement with the appurtenances in Higham Ferrers aforesaid wherein I now dwell To have and to hold to her and her heires forever

Item I further give unto my said wife All the Goods and Chattells wares and merchandizes being in my dwelling house shop and Barnes yard and stables thereunto belonging Except my Copper which I give unto my daughter Elizabeth RICHARDS

Item I further give and bequeath unto my said wife the yearely summe of Thirty Pownds To be paid by my Executors every half yeare by equall porcions during her naturall life The first payment to be made Six monethes after my decease

Item I further give and bequeath the summe of One hundred and Eighty Pownds To be paid by my Executors to such person or persons use or uses as my said wife in or by her last Will and Testament shall appoint or direct

Item I give and bequeath unto my Kinswoman Margarett TODD wife of Thomas TODD The summe of Twenty Pownds To be paid within Two yeares after my decease towards (the) raising of porcions for her children

Item I give and bequeath unto the poore of Higham Ferrers the summe of Fyve Pownds to be distributed amongst them at the discretion of my Executors within one moneth after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto the Twelve Beadsmen and woman there the summe of Twenty and Six shillings to be Equally divided amongst them within one moneth after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto my sonn John WORTHINGTON the summe of Fower hundred Pownds Three hundred Pownds of it to be paid within one moneth after my wifes decease and the other hundred Pownds within one moneth after my daughter Rebecca WILCOX death for and towards the raising of porcions for my two grandchildes Anne and Elizabeth WORTHINGTON to be equally shared or devided betwixt them when they shall atteine theire respective ages of One and Twenty yeares or at the time of theire respective marriage or marriages which shall first happen

Item I give and bequeath unto my said sonn in law Thomas RICHARDS whome I make one of the Executors of this my will for his paynes in the execution of the same the summe of Fyve Pownds All the rest of my Goods Chattells debts and Creditts whatsoever not before bequeathed my Debts and Funerall Expences fist paid and discharged I give and bequeath unto my said sonn John WORTHINGTON whome with my said son in law Thomas RICHARDS I doe make constitute and appoint Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by mee made In witness whereof I have published this to be my last Will and Testament and hereunto sett my hand and seale the Three and Twentyth day of May In the Six and Twentyth yeare of the Raigne of our soveraigne Lord Charles the second by the grace of God of England Scotland Frances and Ireland King Defender of the faith &c Anno Dni 1674 Twiford WORTHINGTON Signed sealed and published in the presence of John KNIGHTON
