Ralph Squire – will
of Eaton Maudit


Ralph Squire late of Eason Mawditt in the county of Northampton deceased being of perfect mind and memory upon or about the 11th day of August 1658 with a serious intent and purpose to settle and dispose of his estate did by word of mouth make and declare his last will and testament nuncupative in these or the like words following, vizt; I give to my cousin Robert Squire my colt and one pound that Nicholas Clarke owes me. I also give unto my cousin Richard Squire five pounds. I also give my beloved friend Anne Mathewes ten pounds. I give to my sister Barker the money that she owes me and a black suit and coat and a piece of black cloth and the trunk and all that is therein. I also give to my brother John Squire of Wilksted a grey suit and a red coat and 20 shillings in money that Davie Harris owes me. And last I will that all the legacies shall be disposed of by my loving friend Robert Gale/Gate. The said deceased declared his will and mind in words to the like effect. In the presence of credible witnesses. Owen Swinson.

16th of November 1558 issued forth letters of administration with the will annexed to Robert Ga(le) trustee named in the last will and testament of Ralph Squire late of Eason Mawdit.
