Richard Partridge – will 1777

In The Name Of God Amen I Richard Partridge Yeoman of Bozeat in the County of Northampton being of Sound mind and memory (Praised be God for the same) Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) I Desire my Executrix hereafter named to Bury my Corps in a Decent Manner: and to pay all my just Debts Legacies and Funeral Expenses. I give unto my Beloved Wife my two Houses Being in Bozeat: the House that Francis Partridge my son liveth in and the House that I live in, being a Cottage and Commons of Pasture for Two Cows and Ten Sheep lying and being in Bozeat Fields aforesaid: Commonly called William Jakes but now Richard Partridges, this I give unto my Beloved Wife Mary Partridge and after her Decease that House which my son Francis Partridge lives in I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary Partridge and an Equal Share of the Household Goods. I give unto my Five other Children now Living the sum of Five Pounds each of them to be paid them by my Executrix one year and one day after my Death in good and lawful money of England. I give to my son William Smith, likewise to my Grandson Richard Partridge Son now Living with me Fifty shillings Each of them to be paid by my Executrix one year and one day after my Death in good and lawful money of England. I hereby make constitute and appoint my said Wife Mary Partridge Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament hereby Revoking all former wills by me ever at any time made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Fifteenth day of Jan: in the year of our Lord Christ One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Seven.
