In the name of God Amen I Thomas MAXEY junr. of the parish of Knotting in the Countie of Bedford being at the writing hereof in good and perfect memory (thanks be to Almighty God) do make this my last will and Testament in writing in manner and Form following
And first and principally I do bequeath and comit my soul unto Almighty God my creator trusting in his mercy through the merits and mediation of his son Jesus Christ my onely saviour and Redeemer to enjoy after this life everlasting happiness in the kingdom of heaven
And as touching my worldly goods wherewith God of his bounty has blessed me I dispose of them as followeth
I do give unto my Eldest son John MAXEY the full sum of sixe pounds to be paid unto him when he comes to the age of one and twenty years
Item I do give unto my sons Thomas MAXEY, William MAXEY, Richard MAXEY and James MAXEY and to my onely daughter Mary MAXEY fiftie pounds of good money of England a piece to be paid to them at the age of one and twenty yeares And if any of them shall die before that time then their portion to be equally divided amongst all them living to whom I have given fiftie pounds apiece for their portions
Lastly it [is] my will that my dear wife Elizabeth MAXEY together with my son Thomas MAXEY be executors of this my will to be performed and of all my goods and chattels to be by them disposed and possessed for the performance of this my will In witness whereunto I have hereunto set my hand October the one and thirtieth 1696
