In the name of God Amen the first day of March Ano Dom 1679 I Jone MAXEY of Knotting in the county of Bedford widow being sick in body but of sound and perfect remembrance praise bee to God doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manor and form folloeing First I committ my sole to Almighty God and my body to the ground to be buried at the discression of my Executor hereafter named and as for those worldly goods which God hath lent me I dispose of them as followeth
Imprimis I give unto my son John one twenty shilling peece of newe gold
Item I give unto my daughter Elizabeth one twenty shilling peece of old gold
Item I give unto my daughter Ruth tenn pounds and on tenn shilling peeece of old gold and my best standing bedseed (bedstead) with the curtaines and valence and one fether bed markt with her name two bolsters two pillowes one blanket one coverlid one of ye least joined chests the great table in the hall one joined forme the least brass pott my greate kettle and my least and one warmeing pan and allsoe all such linning (linen) that is markt with her name upon it
Item I give unto my daughter Lidiah fifteene pounds to bee paid to her by my Executor within six months after my decease and one tenn shilling peece of old gold and the bed that I nowe layeth on with the curtaines and valence one fether bed that is markt with her name upon it one flock bed two bolsters two pillowes two blankets one coverlid the table in the palor (parlour) four joyed stooles one prest? cubbard and my great chest one great joyned chaire the biggest brass pott and my best chest and my two newest kettles one warming pann and all such linning that is markt with her name upon it
Item I give unto my two daughters Ruth and Lidiah all my pewter to be equally divided betwene them
Item I give unto my daughter Lidiah all my wareing Apparill both linning and woollen
Item I give and bequeath unto my sonn Thomas all my houses and pytls of pasture lands layes and meadoe in the parish of Houghton Conquest to him and his heires and Assignes forever and all the rest of my goods and chattels not formerly given I give and bequeath unto my sonne Thomas whom I make and ordaine my holl (whole) and only Executor of this my will hee paying my debts legacies and funeral charges and to see this my will truly performed and my desire is that my son William BABINGTON to bee overseire of this my will to see the same truly performed in wittnes whereof I the said Jone MAXEY have hereunto sett my hand and seale
