Mary Edwards – will
of Easton Maudit, 1655

20th January 1652 I Mary Edwards of Eveston Maunduit widow being sick and weak in body but whole of mind etc make this my last will and testament. First I commend my soul to God etc. I give to William Edwards of Daynton twenty shillings. I give to Mary Troman of Harrold twenty shillings. I give to William Troman the son of Mary Troman ten shillings to be paid to him one year after my decease. I give to John Godby of Yardly ten shillings. I give to Annis Godby of Yardly ten shillings. I give to Joane Godby of Raunson in Buckinghamshire ten shillings. I give to Margery Julyans of Risely in the county of Bedford twenty shillings. I give to Annis Allin the daughter of George Allin living at Turvey twenty shillings. I give to Elizabeth Laughton of Newton in Buckinghamshire twenty shillings. I give to Ann Browne of Yardly the daughter of William Browne twenty shillings. I give to Mary Wetherhead of Northampton being the daughter of Henry Allin twenty shillings. I give to William Allin of Eveston the elder thirty shillings. I give to Mary Allin the daughter of William Allin twenty shillings. I give to William Allin the younger twenty shillings. I give to John Champe being my grandchild twenty marks. And my will and desire is that he shall have ten pounds of John Clarke the son of Paul Clarke deceased and of John Chapman of Dainton each of them to pay him five pounds and the five marks that he is to have besides the ten pounds I will that he receive if of my executors hereafter named. And my desire is that John Clarke and John Chapman shall have one year’s liberty after my decease for the payment of the ten pounds. And I will that John (Change) shall have this which I have bequeathed him if he comes within one year after my decease. And if he doth not come my will is that my executors shall have the disposing of it as they think fit.

I give to William Smith of Bozeat for his pains he hath taken herein twenty shillings And I do make and ordain my brother William Allin of Wellingborough and my kinsman William Allin of Easton Maudit my executors, and after my debts paid etc. I give the remaining part of my goods to my executors disposing.

This will was proved on the 6th of May 1655 on the oath of William Allin the brother and William Allin the kinsman executors named in the will.
