Thomas Church – will 1796

In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Church
of Wymington in the county of Bedford Farmer being thanks be
to God of sound and disposing Mind Memory and Understanding Do
this Thirtieth day of December One thousand seven hundred and –
Ninety five make and publish this my last Will and Testament
in manner and form following (That is to say). First I give and
Devise unto my Wife Elizabeth and Son Thomas All my Farmhouse
and Homestead situate standing and being in Wymington aforesaid
now in the tenure of John Nobles. Also all my Land in the parish
Fields of Wymington aforesaid which I purchased of Mr Samuel Sharman
and now in my Own Occupation. Also A Close of Arable Land in the
parish of Rushden now in the tenure of William Baker, Butcher,
containing about two Acres and Nineteen poles. Also all that my
Moiety or Undivided half part of and in All that Messuage Tenement
or Farmhouse Homestead Lands hereditaments and premises situate
standing lying and Being in the Parish of Mears Ashby in the –
County of Northampton which was given to my said Wife Elizabeth
by Elizabeth Rogers and now in the Occupation of John Callis.
Also all that Moiety or half part of and in two Acres of Meadow
Ground lying and being in the parish of Earls Barton in the
said County of Northampton and now in the tenure of
Powell: To hold all the aforesaid Messuages Lands Tenements
and Hereditaments unto my said Wife Elizabeth and Son Thomas
theire heires and Assigns for ever to take as Tenants in Common
and not as Joint Tenants. Subject to and Chargeable with the –
payment of the several Legacies by me hereinafter bequeathed

I Give and Devise unto my Son George Day Church All that my –
Messuage Cottage or Tenement with the Commons to the same belonging
situate standing lying and being in Wymington aforesaid and now in
the tenure of Thomas Law To hold to him his heirs and Assigns
for ever – I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary the Sum of
One hundred and Thirty pounds Also I give and bequeath unto my
Daughter Rose the Sum of One hundred and Thirty pounds. Also I –
give and bequeath unto my Son Stephen the Sum of One hundred and
Thirty pounds. Also I give and bequeath to my said Son George Day –
the Sum of One hundred and Thirty pounds. And my mind and –
Will is that the aforesaid Legacies to my Two Daughters and Two Sons –
shall be paid and payable to them respectively / out of the Lands and Estates
hereinbefore by me devised to my said Wife and Son Thomas / as they –
shall several Attain their respective Ages of twenty one Years or be married
And I do hereby charge the same Lands & Estates with the payment
of the said Legacies accordingly. All the Rest Residue and Remainder
of my Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever or of whatnature or
kindsoever / after payment of my Just Debts Funeral Expences & Expences
of proving this my Will / I give and bequeath to my said Son Thomas –
and Wife Elizabeth equally to be divided between them share and –
Share alike. And I do hereby make and appoint my said Wife Elizabeth
and Son Thomas Executrix and Executor of this my Will hereby revoking
all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and –
do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness
whereof I the said Thomas Church have hereunto set my hand and

last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in
his presence and at his Request and in the presence of
each other have Subscribed our Names as Witnesses

Granting of Probate to Exors of Thomas Church 1796

Sharnbrook Feb: 26. 1796

Elizabeth Church The widow of the late Thomas
Church of Wimmington, and Thomas Church the son
of the said Thomas and Elizabeth Church made
Oath that this Paper contains the last Will and
Testament of the said Thomas Church deceased,
That they are the Executrix and Executor of the
Said Will. And that they will faithfully execute
The same And also that the Effects of the said
Thomas Church at the time of ^his Decease did not
Amount to the Sum of Six hundred Pounds.
