Thomas Church – will 1658

In the Name of god Everlasting Amen I Thomas Church of Wimmington in the County of
Bedford yeoman being sicke in body but in p[er]fect memory doe make this my Last will and Testamt
in manner and forme following First I render up my soule which is immortall Unto god my
Creator who gave it me And my body to the Earth to be buried And as for my Temporall and
personall estate which god hath given me I shall give and dispose of it in manner and forme
as followeth First I give and bequeath to my daughter Anne the sume of Eighty and five
pounds of lawfull English money Alsoe l give to my daughter Mary the sume of Sixty
and five pounds of like lawfull English money Alsoe I give to my daughter Jane the sume
of sixty fifty and five pounds of like lawfull English money to be paid to her at the full
age of eighteen yeares And my aforesaid daughters Anne and Mary to be paid to them
their full portions at the age of Twenty yeares Alsoe I give and bequeath to my sone
Thomas the sume of one hundred fifty and five pounds of lawfull English moneyes to be
paid in the forme following that is to say one moyety of the said Hundred and fifty five pounds
within three months after my decease and the other moyety within three months after
the day appointed for ye first payment Alsoe it is my will that yf any of my said children
should dye before the tyme appointed for the payment of the said Legacies Porcons That
then the porcon of the party deceased shal bee equally devided amongst or betweene my
^surviving children Alsoe I give to my daughter Alice the sume of Twentie Shillings Likewise I
give to my grandchild Mary Mackenis the sume of five pounds both which sums shall
bee paid with ^in one yeare after my decease Lastly I give and bequeath to my sonne John
Whom I make nominate sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament all my personnall
and temporall estate goods houshold stuffe Cattells & Chattles Credits whatsoever hee paying
the above mentioned porc[i]ons to my other children according to my intent and meaneing herein
expressed And my lawfull Debts hee alsoe is to pay whatsoever Sealed with my seale dated
the Thirtieth day of August in the Yeare of our Lord God One Thousand Six Hundred
Fifty and Eight 1658 In Witness whereof I hereunto sett my hand The mark of Thomas
Church ^ Signed and Sealed in the presence of Richard Newcome John Anderson
