Robert Catelin – will
of Raunds


I Roberte Catelin of Rands, gent, being very weak in body but of perfect memory etc make this my last will. First I bequeath my soul to almighty God etc. I give to the repair of the parish church of Randes 40s. To the poor people of Rands 40s being 20s at the day of my burial and 20s twelve months later.

I give to Roberte Cateline my grandchild 5 pounds to be paid when he is 12 years old. I give to Elenor Cateline my grandchild 3 pounds 6s 8d to be paid when she is 12 years old. I give to Winfeyld Cateline 3 pounds 6s 8d to be paid to him as aforesaid. I give to Elizabeth Cateline three pounds 6s 8d to be paid as aforesaid. I give to Willyam Cateline three pounds 6s 8d as aforesaid. I give to Henry Catline 3 pounds 6s 8d as aforesaid. I give to my daughter Helen Cateline 10 pounds or my white gelding at her choice. I give to William Burie my grandchild 5 pounds. I give to Charles Burie 3 pounds 6s 8d to be paid as aforesaid. To Edward Burie the same. To Elizabeth Burie the same. To Willyam Burye my son in law 5 pounds. To Elizabeth Isham my daughter 10 pounds and I will that she shall have another 10 pounds due to her as a legacy from her Aunt Stukeley.

I give to Gregory Isham my son in law 40 ewes with their lambs on Lammas day next after my decease. I give to him also my brown bay gelding. I give to Robert Isham my grandchild 5 pounds. I give to Henry Isham 3 pounds 6s 8d to be paid as aforesaid. I give 3 pounds 6s 8d to Richard Isham as aforesaid. I give to Eliza Isham 3 pounds 6s 8d to he paid to him as aforesaid. I give to Helen Isham 3 pounds 6s 8d as aforesaid. I give Anne Isham 3 pounds 6s 8d as aforesaid.

My will is that Willyam Turkington my servant shall have and enjoy his house that he now dwells in with the land arable, ley closing, meadow and other appurtenances during his natural life. I will also that George Harisonne my servant shall have and enjoy three acres of land arable for his natural life. I give to Willyam Catelyne my son all my other goods and I make him my executor. Witnesses John Bennett clerk, John Woodhouse, John Dorman.
