Rushden Echo, 1st January 1943, transcribed by Kay Collins
Wymington Wedding — Wilding – Desborough

Wymington Wesleyan Chapel was the scene of a pretty wedding when Miss Winifred Desborough, youngest daughter of Mrs W F Desborough, of 127, Rushden-road, Wymington, was married to Gunner Charles Wilding, of Lavendon, Bucks. The bride is a Sunday School teacher and organist at Wymington Chapel. The ceremony was performed by the Rev W H R Hesketh, and the organist was Mrs J Newell, sister of the bride who played for the hymns “Lead us, heavenly Father, lead us”, and “The voice that breathed o’er Eden”. The bride, who was given away by her brother, looked charming in a white satin dress and a halo of pearls. She carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums and heather. Two of the attendants, Mrs R Jones, sister of bride, and Miss E Wilding, sister of the bridegroom, wore dresses of blue taffeta with veiled headdresses, and carried bouquets of pink chrysanthemums. Master Arthur Desborough, in a suit of white satin, was the page boy. The best man was Sergt. Eric Andrews, of Northampton. A reception was held in the school-room, about seventy guests attending.
