Wellingborough News, 17th October 1890, transcribed by Kay Collins
Mr. G. Warren

SERIOUS TRAP ACCIDENT—On Friday last Mr. G. Warren, of this place, was driving with his daughter (a child three years of age) from Melchbourne to Higham, and on coming down the hill near Yelden the little girl slipped off the seat. While Warren was re-seating her he dropped the reins. At the bottom of the hill is a very sharp corner to turn, and to keep people from driving into the ditch a large pebble is placed just at the corner. Before Warren could right himself the horse turned the corner short and ran over the pebble, pitching the occupants of the trap out. The Rev. Smith hearing the crash went with his servant to the spot, and found Warren doubled up insensible, and his head covered with blood, the child being unhurt. The rev. gentleman had his horse put in, and conveyed Warren home, where he has since been attended by Dr. Crew. At the time of writing he had not recovered consciousness, and the chances of his recovery very poor.
