Edwin Jack Rowlett was born 30 April 1901 at Thrapston, the son of John, a gardener, and Jane his wife.

The family was living in Oundle Road, Thrapston in 1911, and he had a brother Frederick and sister Mabel.

His brother Frederick (17) was already working at the Co-op there, and Edwin aged 9, and his sister (12) were still at school.

In 1925 Edwin married Enid Kate Robinson in Thrapston district.

A daughter, Beryl was born in December 1929 and was baptised at Higham Ferrers Wesleyan in February 1930.

Edwin was Mayor of the Borough in 1943.

He died December quarter of 1969 in Warrington District
