Killed in ActionMr. and Mrs. Alfred Morris, of Chelveston, received news from the War Office that their son, Pre. Harry Morris, aged 19, of the Royal Fusiliers, was killed in action on July 31st. Enlisting in February 1917, he went to France the following May. The officer writes to express the deep sympathy of his comrades and says that “as a soldier your son was conscientious in his work, and carried out his duty in a thorough manner, making for himself a place as a man amongst men." The late Pte. Morris was formerly employed in the shop of Mr. E. Parsons, High Street, Rushden.
