St Mary's Church, Higham Ferrers, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Wednesday, when Miss Kathleen Emily Alexandra Sharman, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs S Sharman, of Lancaster Farm, Higham Ferrers, was married to Ernest Willmott Lack, eldest son of Mr and Mrs E W Lack, of Poplar Farm, Caldecott. The bridegroom is the popular secretary of the Chelveston Football Club.

The Rev B E Owen was the officiating clergyman. Given away by her father, the bride was prettily attired in satin beaute, with an over-dress of georgette, trimmed with pearls and diamante, a bridal veil lent by a friend, with silver shoes and stockings to tone. She carried a bouquet of pink roses, and wore a string of pearls. Miss Ivy Tebbutt (cousin of the bride), Miss Lucy Willmott, Miss Alice Willmott (cousins of the bridegroom), Miss Doreen Munn, and Miss Molly Sharman (nieces of the bride), were the bridesmaids, and they wore dresses of primrose yellow georgette trimmed with green and gold. The elder bridesmaids carried bouquets of pink and yellow roses, and the little ones carried baskets of sweet peas. Mr W Keller, of Rushden, was the best man.

Mr A E Wright at the organ played suitable festal music, and accompanied the singing of the hymns, “Lead us, Heavenly Father,” and “O perfect love.” The reception was held in the Parish Rooms, Higham Ferrers, and subsequently Mr and Mrs Lack left for Torquay, where they are spending the honeymoon. Mrs Lack travelled in a fawn three-piece suit, and silk coat to tone (the gifts of the bridegroom), and lizard shoes and stockings to match.

About 100 handsome and useful presents were received. Messrs A Abbott and Sons supplied the motors.
