The wedding took place yesterday at the Parish church, the Rev. W. H. McCleery (Rector) officiating, of Miss Elizabeth Taylor, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Taylor, late of 22, St. John’s Terrace, Radcliffe to Mr. Harry Gadsden, youngest son of Mr. Henry Gadsden of Yelden. The bride, given away by her brother, Mr. J. Taylor, was neatly attired in  biscuit-coloured costume and a white velour hat. She wore a half-hunter watch, the gift of the bridegroom. Miss A Fletcher, bridesmaid, wore a saxe-blue gabardine costume and a suede hat to match. She also wore an amethyst and pearl brooch. Mr. Arnold Shackleton was best man. Hymns 350 and 351 were sung and suitable wedding music was played. After a reception at the School House, the happy couple left for Lowestoft for their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a brown costume and a white velour hat. The bride has for several years been mistress of the Newton Day Schools. The scholars presented her with a silver butter, cheese and biscuits dish and the working party and friends in the village made a presentation of a case of fish knives and forks and a cigarette stand.
