The Rushden Echo, 23rd February 1923, transcribed by Kay Collins
Mr. A. P. Fall

YELDEN - PRESENTATION—A very pleasing ceremony took place on Friday Afternoon, Feb. 9th, when the inhabitants of Yelden presented Mr. A. P. Fall, the late postman of the village, with a silver plated dinner cruet and also a hand made briar pipe in recognition of his kindness to them during his term of service as postman of the district. The good wishes of the village people go with him to his new sphere of work. The following is a copy of a letter of thanks received from Mr. Fall;—"35, Kelvin Avenue Bedford, Feb. 12, 1923. To the inhabitants of Yielden.—I most heartily thank you one and all for the most beautiful presents which you so generously subscribed for in recognition of services rendered during my nearly 10 years as postman of Yelden, and it goes to show that I gave satisfaction to the inhabitants of Yelden. Once again thanking you one and all I remain, yours sincerely, A. P. Fall."
