Mr and Mrs Ellis
Aged Lovers – Marriage of Rushden Old Age Pensioners

Mr & Mrs EllisMr and Mrs Ellis were married at Podington Church on Monday. Their combines aged are 153 years, and they are both making their second venture into the sea of matrimony. Mr. John Ellis is 75 years of age, and lives at Podington; Mrs. Dobbs, aged 78, was living at Rushden before her wedding. They went to church in a motor car, and were married by the Rev. W. Kitchin. This is the first aged couple married in Podington Church, and a merry peal was rung on the bells. The bridegroom is an old bellringer, and not only rang in his wedding peal fifty years ago, but also rang again on Saturday on the occasion of his second marriage.
