Edmunds - Vorley
Raunds War Wedding
From the Trenches to the Altar

Pte & Mrs Edmunds
Pte & Mrs Edmunds
A very pretty wedding took place at St. Peter’s Church, Raunds, on Monday afternoon, the Rev. C. C. Aldred officiating, when Miss Florence Vorley, youngest daughter of Mr. John Vorley, of Midland-road, Raunds, became the wife of Pte. A. N. Edmunds, of the A.S.C., and son of the late Mr. N. Edmunds, of Winchester. The marriage was by special licences, and took place during the first leave obtained by the bridegroom since joining up 15 months ago and after 13 months spent in France. The bride looked very nice in a charming dress of light Saxe crepe de chine, with sleeves and vest of Georgette, and hat to match. The bridesmaids were Miss May Jackson (niece of the bride) and Miss Jewel Trusler (friend), who were attired in dark Saxe silk. The bride was given away by her father, the bridegroom being attended by the bride’s brother, Mr. C. W. Vorley. The reception was held at the home of the bride, where a large company of relatives and friends were entertained. Pte. and Mrs. Edmunds afterwards left for Winchester, where the honeymoon is being spent.
