The Argus, 2nd March 1917, transcribed by Kay Collins
Coles - Hewlitt

Wedding—A quite but pretty wedding took place at the Parish Church on Monday, when Miss Emily Hewlitt, daughter of Mr. Thos. Hewlitt, was married to Mr. John Coles. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Frank Hewlitt, was tastefully attired in a grey dress and hat, and was attended by her sister, Miss Elsie Hewlitt. The Rev. C. B. Jennings performed the ceremony, and Mr. George Hewlitt officiated at the organ. A merry peal on the bells was rung as the happy pair left the Church amidst a shower of confetti.
