Rushden Echo, 11th December 1908, transcribed by Kay Collins
Button - Welch

Wedding—Quite a large crowd gathered at the Methodist Church, Granfell, Saskatchewan, on November 18th, to witness the wedding of Mr. Fred Button and Miss Gertrude Mary Welch, by the Rev. Hugh Dobson. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. H. Welch, late of Stonly, Kimbolton, and the bridegroom is the third son of Mr. G. Button, of Higham Ferrers. The bride, dressed in a dove grey colour costume with hat to match, was given away by her father. The bridegroom was supported by Mr. John Welch, brother of the bride. Miss Kate Button, in navy blue (sister to the groom) acted as bridesmaid. Miss Florence Mitchell played wedding music on the organ. Numerous presents were received, showing the respect and esteem in which the young people were held. The bride’s parents entertained about sixty guests to the wedding feast, and an enjoyable time was spent.
