Rushden Echo, 14th January 1944, transcribed by Peter Brown
Mr & Mrs Ainge
Ringstead Couple’s Golden Wedding
Family Celebration at Higham Ferrers

Married at Islip Parish Church in 1894, Mr and Mrs A. Ainge, of Rose Cottage, Ringstead, and formerly of The Mill Crossing, Woodford, celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wedding on Saturday. A family gathering was held at the home of their daughter, Mrs T Shaw, 15, Kimbolton-road, Higham Ferrers, and an attractive item was a cake decorated with 50 candles.

Mrs Ainge (nee Julia Woolley) was a native of Islip, and her husband came from Thrapston. Mr. Ainge now 75, completed 52 years' railway service in 1933 and still enjoys good health. His wife, aged 74 is less fortunate, as her eyesight is failing.

There were four children of the marriage. The eldest son was killed in France in 1917 and the others are Mr Arthur Ainge (Woodford) and Mr W. Ainge (Ringstead). The only grandchild is Master F A Shaw.
