Edward & George Abbott
of Ringstead

Edward 'Teddie' Abbott and George Abbott, brothers who fought in the great war. Both survived the war, Edward loosing a leg due to being shot. He developed gangrene and it was amputated. Sons of John and Eliza, George was born in 1888 and Edward in 1890.

Edward Abbott served in France with the 7th Batt.
Northants Regiment, and was invalided home.
George Abbott as captain of the village football team. He served in Gallipoli Peninsula, Egypt, India, Mesopotamia, Persia & Russia with 9th Batt. Royal Warwickshire Regt.
