Rushden Echo & Argus, 7th August 1931, transcribed by Kay Collins
Furness — Howells

The Rev. A. S. Dodds, Rector of Wymington, officiated at the wedding which took place on Saturday, at the church of St. Lawrence, Wymington, of Miss Hannah June Howells, the second daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. Howells, of 38, Cemetery-road, Wymington, and Mr. Harry Leonard Furness, second son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Furness, of New Estate, Wymington. The bride's father holds the position of School Attendance Officer. The bride was given away by Mr. Frank Gibson, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and she was attired in a gown of ivory crepe suede, ankle length, with veil and orange blossom, and silver shoes. Her shower bouquet was of red roses and white carnations.

The bridesmaids in attendance were Miss Daisy Furness (sister of the bridegroom), Miss Edna Neville (friend), and little Misses Megan Warren and Eileen Sherwood (nieces of the bridegroom). The two elder bridesmaids were attired in gowns of blue crepe georgette, with hats and shoes to match, and the two younger attendants wore dresses of pale green, with mob caps and black patent shoes. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of pink and white carnations. Mr. Thomas Furness, (brother of the bridegroom), carried out the duties of best man, and the organist was Mr. Smith, of Rushden, who played for the singing of the hymns "Lead us, Heavenly Father" and "O perfect Love."

A reception was held at the bridegroom's home, after which the happy couple departed on their honeymoon, the bride's travelling costume being a blue silk coat with hat and dress to tone.
