Here is another interesting group of four generations of male members of one family. The venerable head of the family is Mr. Farey Mayes (right) who will be 80 next birthday and now resides at Ringstead. On the left is his son, Mr. Harry Mayes and in the centre the latter’s son, Mr. Stanley Mayes, and the latter’s little son, Master Ronald Mayes.

This Raunds family are well known in musical circles. Mr. Stanley Mayes has been successful in vocal and instrumental contests at the North Northants Competitions and was appointed organist of Stanwick Parish Church at the age of 15. He is now organist and choirmaster at Worksop Priory.
