George Raymond York

Mr G R York, Higham Ferrers

Only 18 years of age, George Raymond York, the youngest of six sons of Mr and Mrs G W York, 7, Wharf-road, Higham Ferrers, died in the Northampton General Hospital on Wednesday morning. He was sent there on Saturday suffering from meningitis, and had been ill for a fortnight.

The lad was well-known in Rushden, where he was employed by Mr H Skinner, butcher. Mr and Mrs York have one daughter as well as five older sons. The funeral is to take place at Higham on Saturday, with a service at the Parish Church.
