William Willmott

Sudden Death on Way to Work – Shoe Operative’s Collapse
While on his way to work, William Willmott (59), shoe operative, of 107 High street, Irchester, collapsed and died in Staion road early yesterday morning.

Diagnosis revealed death to be due to heart failure, and the Coroner has decided that an inquest in unnecessary.

Willmott was on his way to work at the boot factory of Messrs. John Cave & Sons Ltd., Rushden, where he had been employed as a finisher for many years.

He apparently collapsed on a seat near Irchester LMS Railway Station and was found by signalman Cosford, the stationmaster, Mr Fleet, phoning for Dr. Lean, of Irchester.

The doctor found that death had taken place, and the body was removed to Irchester.
