Mrs Rachel Watts, Chelveston

A well-known inhabitant of Chelveston, Mrs Rachel Watts, of High-street, passed away early last Thursday morning at the age of 60. Mrs Watts had been ill for some time. She leaves a husband, Mr Joseph Watts, a son, Mr J R Watts, and a daughter, Mrs M Eaton.

The funeral service which took place on Saturday at the Chelveston Baptist Church, of which Mrs Watts was a member, was conducted by the Rev P F Boyd, of Rushden, who also officiated at the interment in the churchyard. At the service two hymns were sung, “When I survey the wondrous cross” and “Jesus, still lead on”, the organist being Mr D Watts.

The family mourners were: Mr J Watts (widower), Mr and Mrs Eaton (son-in-law and daughter), Mr and Mrs J R Watts (son and daughter-in-law), Mr and Mrs G A Allen (brother-in-law and sister), Mr and Mrs E Harrison and Mr and Mrs A Harrionson (brothers and sisters-inlaw), Mr and Mrs H Watts (brother-in-law and siters-in-law), Mrs E Newell and Mrs R Hudson (nieces), and many other friends representing the chapel.

The Co-operative Federal Funeral Service carried out the arrangements.
