Stanwick Victim of the War

We regret to state that Sgt. R.H. Ward, 6^th Battalion, The Queen’s (Royal West Surrey( Regiment, was killed in action in France on March 7^th. Deceased, who was the third son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ward, of High-street, Stanwick, was for a time in the 21^st Lancers, but bought himself out. At the outbreak of the war he was an employee of Callender’s Cable Company at Woking, but joined up again the first week of the war.
