IRCHESTER OBITUARY It is only proper that respectful reference be made to Mr. James Ward, whose death is reported in our obituary column. He was the oldest grandson of the venerable old Will Ward, who half a century ago was clerk of this parish, and who with his bass violin occupied a prominent place in the church choir. The deceased, following the example of his father and grandfather, was a faithful member of the choir, and played a violin up to about the year 1860, when a change was made by the introduction of the organ, whose fine tones are still to be heard every Sunday. The gentleman who presides at the instrument is a great grandson of the above old sire.
