Mrs. Isabella Walker

Obituary—It is with regret that we have to record the death of Mrs. Isabella Walker, widow of the late Mr. John Walker, who since the latter’s death, some 15 years ago, has acted as parish Clerk, etc. The deceased, who had been ill about a fortnight, was 77 years of age, and was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends. Four sons are left to mourn their loss, two being on active service. She passed away on Thursday last.—The funeral took place on Tuesday in the churchyard, amidst many signs of deepest sympathy and respect. The body was first taken to the Parish Church, Messrs. R. Barber, G. Willis, R. Summers, and A. Spreckley, being the bearers. The Rector, the Rev. C. B. Jennings, M.A., impressively conducted the service. The chief mourners were: Mr. T. Walker, (Raunds (son), Mrs. J. Walker (daughter-in-law), Pte. W. Walker (son), Mrs. W. Walker (daughter-in-law), Mr. A. Walker (grandson), Miss L. Walker (granddaughter), Mr. B. Perkins (brother-in-law), Mrs. Haddon (sister-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. W. Murdin (nephew and niece), Mrs. R. Ward (niece), Mrs. H. Rivett, Mrs. Hodson, Mrs. Spreckley, Mrs. Barber, Miss Drage, and Miss Willis (friends). Mrs. W. S. Gibbard and Mrs. W. O. Sanders joined at the church. In accordance with the wish of the decease there were no wreaths.
